July 28, 2020
Dear Chicago Park School Families, Staff and Community Members:
I wanted to provide a District update regarding the school reopening for the 2020-2021 school year. Attached is the School Reopening Guidance that was presented to the Board of Trustees on Monday, July 27th. At the conclusion of reviewing the document, the Board approved the plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
After thoughtful input and collaboration from parents, staff, State and local public health officials, as well as through consultation with Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, the Board approved opening school in a Phase II model. The Board and District will be reviewing the Covid-19 situation and move between phases as needed. If a phase change is needed, the District will be providing as much notification to the community as possible.
Since Phase II is highly dependent on internet access, we are asking families to contact myself (firstname.lastname@example.org) and/or the office, (530) 346-2153, as soon as possible if you have internet access issues. We are working on finding solutions so every child has access.
As we continue to finalize details on reopening in August, we will be reaching out to families to gather information about signing up for check-in days and small group instruction, as well as providing you with updated information.
We truly appreciate all of your support and understanding during these unprecedented times. We are excited to be providing an exceptional learning experience for Chicago Park School students for the Fall.
