What We Stand For
We are a school composed of students, parents, staff and community who are committed to promoting independent thinking, achieving one’s personal best and lifelong learning for all. Our mission is to provide a well-rounded program that prepares students for 21st century success in all areas of academics, and by offering unique and individualized services in math, science, technology, and character development. We emphasize a safe and nurturing environment, and graduate responsible students who respect the rights of others.
We Provide an Environment for Our Students to Grow & Excel
For over 100 years, Chicago Park School has served as a place where kids learn and play. Our once single room schoolhouse has grown into a fourteen room, K-8 campus, with a new full-sized gym/multi-purpose room, state of the art science lab, music/drama room, and applied mathematics lab. In 2011 the District added a second school, the Chicago Park Community Charter School. Our district students, along with our charter school students benefit from an exceptional on-campus standards-based program that focuses on providing a rigorous 21st Century education with an emphasis in math, science, technology and character development.
Teaching the Professionals of tomorrow
We are open to all students and families committed to our mission/educational vision. The District honors the uniqueness of each individual, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds in order to build a strong, inclusive community and prepare all students for lives in a multicultural society.
The district offers specialized programs in Science, Math, Technology, and Character Development. Our schools emphasize good citizenship through a hands-on character development program that is integrated into the core curriculum.
We are committed to maintaining high expectations for academic, social and personal performance.Maintaining a small and supportive school environment is a top priority.
Teachers that Care
“Chicago Park Elementary school holds a special place in our family’s heart. Being a small school in a country setting presents students with an opportunity to grow relationships both inside and outside the classroom with their peers, teachers and staff. I believe this environment helps students feel safe and confident, so they can grow individually and develop a sense of responsibility for our beautiful community.”
– A Chicago Park Parent
Charter Program
Many parents are seeking alternatives to the public education available in their district of residence. You may feel your children are capable of higher levels of academic achievement, but the necessary opportunities are not available. Perhaps you are looking for more individualized attention within a safe and nurturing environment where your children can learn social responsibility, self-discipline, and respect for others.
Here at Chicago Park Community Charter School, we have built a program that may be just what you are looking for. By adding a charter school, we are able to enroll students without an inter-district transfer. This opens our doors to families we may not otherwise be able to serve.
What is a Charter School?
A charter school is a public school of choice. Enrollment is open to all students, both within and outside the school district. No tuition is charged. Funding is provided through the state, just as it is in traditional public schools. There are no academic entrance requirements. Charter schools were created to provide more choices in public education. They operate without the constraints of traditional public schools, giving them the freedom to enroll out-of-district students and to develop a program designed specifically to execute the school’s academic mission.
